ARJUN PARUCHURI'S EMPOWER & ELEVATE PROJECT

Equipping people with the skills, confidence, and opportunity to build resilient futures.

Empowering individuals and families across our communities by delivering essential life skills — from lifesaving CPR training and practical financial management to youth scholarships — so people have the tools and education to thrive in the careers they choose.

OUR VISION

Talent is everywhere. Opportunity isn't — yet.

Project Empower began with a simple observation that turned into a personal mission. While traveling and observing communities around the world, Arjun saw children facing real economic hardship and families struggling simply because they lacked access to basic financial education and practical life skills.

What started as an effort to offer financial awareness and scholarships to underprivileged youth has grown to include lifesaving emergency preparedness. Today, the project works both locally and internationally — partnering with grassroots organizations to equip people of every background with the confidence, knowledge, and opportunity to build secure, self-sustaining futures.

WHAT WE DO

Four ways we serve

Every program starts with the same question: what does someone need to know, or be able to do, to take care of themselves and the people around them?

SCHOLARSHIPS

Youth Career & Academic Scholarships

Awarding targeted educational and vocational scholarships to underprivileged students and young adults, removing financial barriers so they can pursue higher education and skilled career paths.

Every scholarship approved by the project has gone directly to a named student whose education would otherwise have stopped at a financial wall.

FOOD SECURITY

Addressing Food Insecurity with Eagle Scout Project

In the farmland of Maryland, fresh produce is abundant, yet nearby families still face food insecurity — food pantries often receive shelf-stable cans rather than fresh, nutrient-dense fruit.

For his Eagle Scout project, Arjun partnered with a local community farm and designed heavy-duty cedar and steel berry cane organizers, lifting sprawling blackberry and raspberry vines off the ground to protect the fruit and multiply the harvest. Organized rows now yield hundreds of pounds of berries a season, distributed directly to Maryland food banks and shelter kitchens.

A dedicated student leader with a deep commitment to service, Arjun has spent his high school years turning empathy into action — designing curricula, leading volunteer teams, and building partnerships that now span two continents. His work reflects disciplined follow-through and a genuine belief that lasting change begins with equipping others to help themselves.

Three-year Johns Hopkins APL MESA award winner and STEM mentor Won awards three years in a row in the Johns Hopkins APL Maryland MESA competition by designing and building a working app prototype. Then mentored a middle school team that went on to win at the regional competition.

STEM MENTORSHIP

Mentoring middle school students to solve real problems with technology

Arjun is a three-year award winner in the Johns Hopkins APL Maryland MESA competition. He designed and built a working app prototype, taking it from idea to a finished demo for a panel of engineers. He then passed on what he’d learned, mentoring a middle school team that went on to win at the regional competition.

For Arjun, winning was never just about the trophy. It was about solving real problems with technology and helping the next group of young engineers believe they could do the same.
